A Short Word About "Spam"

Everyone hates the stuff. I don't like opening my email to find a couple of useless offers for "Viagra over the Internet at wholesale prices!!!" and various other strange and unneeded products. There's a little problem however...

America Online sets their software to block all emails from outside their domain by default. You can change this in your email settings. If you don't change this, your long-lost best friend from Lakenheath High School will receive a bounced email message. People you are desperately trying to locate are going to be turned away.

I send out an invitation to every Lancer I find. For a while, I couldn't figure out why I kept getting invalid email addresses, etc. from AOL accounts. Then I read about it on the Military Brats Registry (another fine site).

Please disable this in your AOL Software, and if you feel strongly enough about it, please let them know that it's an unfair "remedy" to an admittedly thorny problem.

Thanks for reading.
