Summary: I was at Lakenheath during the periods 1962-1966 and 1968-1974. I spent almost my whole childhood there until I joined the Air Force there in 1974. There are a lot of us Alumni who keep in touch over the years. I married one....her name is Irene (Coy) Coggins. We will be married 25 years come October 12th. Most of my friends back then practically built the A.Y.A. over there. When we first got the new building, we spent months on just the stage with florescent paintings of whatever came to our minds. I always wonder if they left the stage painted like that. Did you ever go to the A.Y.A. there. Most of us played instruments, in bands, or just hung out together. We used to climb the base water tower, next to the movie theatre, with our guitars and play up on top of it. Talking about old stories and some of the crazy stuff we did is the essence of reunions. I flew into Mildenhall a few times and to a cab over to Lakenheath to look around. It sure brought back most of my best memories.
